are only aware of what is in our own backyard. Recognizing there is a need
for tours that promote awareness and inform us of our past, Alken has organized
excursions to different cities and areas of historical interest. "Alken's
America" is our answer to the demand for new heritage experiences - both
in the U.S.A. and in Canada. |

Alken brings you the America you know from your geography books, and another
America that you may not be familiar with. Join us in Rochester, New York
and discover an important chapter in American freedom. Visit historic Auburn
and explore homes and places that formed part of the Underground Railroad
during a time when escaped slaves sought refuge in Canada. Travel to New
Orleans and learn about Black Heritage in Alken's "Big Easy". Listen to
the
sound made famous by Louis Armstrong, loosen up at Mardi Gras, and tour
plantations of the old south. Take a stroll through the streets of Harlem
and see the famous Apollo Theater and the Abyssinian Baptist Church. Tour
our nation's capital to view museums and the documents upon which our country
was founded. Travel with us to Canada - to Toronto for Niagra Falls and
the Caribana Festival, and to Montreal - to dance to World Beat rhythms
of the Jazz Fest and the 'Nuit's d'Afrique' African Music Festival. |
