Africa is a blend of the old, the new, the traditional and the unique.
Many companies that offer Africa excursions specialize in just one region
or type of experience, such as a wildlife safari. At Alken Tours, we touch
all areas of the continent - offering safaris to East Africa, exotic holidays
in Egypt and Morocco, journeys into the heartlands of Southern Africa and
a wide variety of tours to West Africa. Our group tours are customized
specifically for our clientele. Many of our trips are scheduled to coincide
with local holidays and other events that celebrate Black History Month.
Our itineraries are also designed to bring our customers into direct contact

At Alken Tours, we believe
in a responsible and ecological approach to tourism - especially in Africa.
Ceremonies are not always "staged" specifically for tourists. In many of
the countries we visit, time-honored traditions are carried on in everyday
life. Our tours incorporate many facets of culture, heritage, adventure
and educational opportunities. We also believe in direct interaction between
Africa's many peoples and our guests - and both come away from the experience
with a richer knowledge and understanding of each other. We believe it
is important to preserve cultural traditions and to create an evironment
of learning for our guests. While not always possible - in most cases,
you are free to take photos and ask questions in a hospitible atmosphere. |

in allowing our guests ample time to relax, and we schedule time for shopping
in each locale. We know how important it is to have mementos of your journey,
and in Africa you will find arts and crafts unique to each country. In
West Africa you can even have clothing tailor-made to please your desire.
Alken's Africa exposes you to a whole new world of tastes. In each country
we make sure you have a number of opportunities to sample local cuisine.
Some of our itineraries also feature "Welcome" and "Farewell" Banquets
- even an African Naming Ceremony! Great care is taken to ensure your trip
is a memorable one. |

| Our tours to Africa include
air fare, first class accommodation, meals as indicated on our itineraries,
services of English-speaking guides, land transport, and airport transfers.
Tours do not include passport and visa fees nor any nececessary and recommended
inoculations. Please note that some tours also include optional activities
that guests may elect to do at their own expense. Alken Tours to Africa
begin at a low $999.00 during our Black History Month specials. While there
is better value in group travel, Alken can also arrange itineraries for
individuals, couples and foursomes who don't mind paying a premium. |
